True crime stories are everywhere, but some series go beyond shock value. Netflix’s I Am a Killer is one of them. It’s not just about the crime — it’s about the people, the paths that led them there, and the humanity we often overlook.
Netflix’s I Am a Killer gives an interesting perspective.
Because it’s a hard show about hard subjects, I was surprised to feel tenderness when watching. The veil is dropped so I can see behind the crime to the people who committed them. I see the tragedies in their own lives. And I see a system that failed them in so many ways. Also, I see the victims, who didn’t deserve their fates. And I see prosecutors hardened by years of seeing things most of us never know. I see forgiveness and I see redemption. And I see people who have become better people behind bars. I see heartache and hope. And dashed hopes.
I see.
