Spring has sprung!
And after the winter we just had, it is a welcome blessing.
Letting go
Most of you know that my dear friend Lisa Montgomery was executed on January 13, 2021. It was a devastating event in my life and the lives of many others. Lisa had international support to commute her sentence to life in prison, but it was not to be.
I felt like I had been punched in the gut. It took me a while, but I got past it. Now my heart doesn’t break for Lisa anymore, although it does break for all of us left behind. She is in a place of peace and unabiding love.
Peace… and purple
In honor of Lisa, I created a garden spot. Peaceful. Beautiful. And purple.
The dirt in my bare hands was invigorating. Watching life bloom inspires me to do more.
Each morning, Lisa’s garden is visited by a pair of purple finches who have claimed the bird feeder as their own.
