Spring has sprung!
And after the winter we just had, it is a welcome blessing.
Most of you know that my dear friend Lisa Montgomery was executed on January 13, 2021. It was a devastating event in my life and the lives of many others. Lisa had international support to commute her sentence to life in prison, but it was not to be.
I felt like I had been punched in the gut. It took me a while, but I got past it. Now my heart doesn’t break for Lisa anymore, although it does break for all of us left behind. She is in a place of peace and unabiding love.
Peace… and purple
In honor of Lisa, I created a garden spot. Peaceful. Beautiful. And purple.
The dirt in my bare hands was invigorating. Watching life bloom inspires me to do more.
Each morning, Lisa’s garden is visited by a pair of purple finches who have claimed the bird feeder as their own.
How are you celebrating spring and rebirth?
Spring tells us it’s time to move on…
Your story took a tremendous amount of courage to share! Thank you
Thank you so much Debbie! It was hard to watch. But honest…
